Rainfall Outlook for April 2024

The month of April is generally characterized by peak seasonal rainfall for the March, April, and May (MAM) season. It is always associated with thunderstorms and lightning over most parts of the country. Overall, during April 2024, most parts of the country are expected to experience enhanced (above-normal) rainfall.

The month of March was generally characterised with the onset of the seasonal rainfall and later followed by dry spells during the second and third weeks over most parts of the country.

 

Maximum Temperature      

The highest maximum temperatures are likely to range from 280C to 320C over parts of the northern region, parts of the eastern region, and parts of the Kyoga sub region. While the rest of the country are likely to experience temperatures in the range of 200C to 280C. The highland areas of Rwenzori and Elgon are likely to experience cooler temperatures in the range of 80C to 140C.
