The hydrometeorology division deals with processing, analyzing and archiving of all hydro-meteorological data including, but not limited to computation of rainfall intensity, duration and frequency.

The division also monitors water levels at river discharge for the major rivers in Uganda and issue advisories and warnings as appropriate.

The division also outputs various hydro-meteorological research works.
